The pace here is unhurried yet lively, a welcome rhythm for anyone craving a genuine meal without fuss. The cozy space invites you to settle in, whether you're grabbing a quick slice, waiting for a carryout, or having a pie delivered straight to your door.
The atmosphere strikes a balance between casual comfort and the steady hum of a well-loved neighborhood eatery. It’s the kind of place where servers greet you with a smile that hints at the busy days behind the counter, but also a genuine care for the people they’re feeding. Amid the clatter of dishes and the faint scent of baking dough, there’s a quietly bustling warmth that feels like an extension of the community itself.
When it comes to the food, the experience is much more than just pizza — though plenty of crusts and toppings here feel thoughtfully crafted, with that perfect blend of crispy edge and soft center. Whether you’re drawn to classic cheese or something more adventurous like their house special or a taco-inspired creation, you’ll find that the ingredients taste fresh and generously applied. Aside from the pies, there’s a modest but thoughtfully curated selection of appetizers that add a casual, hands-on element to the meal — items like golden onion rings and crispy cheese curds, reminding you of the comfort found in simple, well-made snacks.
Deliveries arrive warmly packaged and typically on time, so even if you’re settling in far from the restaurant, the experience doesn’t lose its care or quality. The steady flow of local patrons and visitors alike speaks to a reliability that has quietly cemented its place on the Iron Range dining scene. For those passing through or settling in for the night, Poor Gary's offers more than just a meal — it’s a moment, shared over food made with an easygoing but honest spirit.

Pizza was great. Good service. They seem to be busy on the weekends, so try to put your order in a little early.

The pizza and service was great we had the house special was so good and chicken Alfredo was top notch with apps and they came out fast and good, service was nice and friendly. The aesthetic was good overall. I enjoyed it a ton.

Great hidden gem in the quad city area on the Iron Range. Service was quick and friendly and the pizza was fantastic! I got the taco pizza and the crust was light fluffy and crunchy and the toppings were fresh. Great pizza sauce as well. Prices were reasonable. If you’re driving through the area this spot is well worth the detour!

The food is great, especially the pizza! The staff is friendly and welcoming. I live nearly 10 miles out of town & when I order delivery, its always on time and food is fresh and hot.

Stopped in to order carry out on a Friday around 5pm. The guy working the front counter seemed overwhelmed and took two phone orders that called in after I had been standing at the counter for several minutes. Was told it was going to be 60+ minutes for carry out so I asked to have it delivered to the hotel. The pizza showed up in 30 minutes to my surprise and was generally a good pie with the sauce being on the peppery side. Single topping large pizza delivered was $20 and I tipped the driver 25% for fast delivery. Happy bellies, thank you.

The pizzas were perfect. Crisp but soft (?!) crust, the cheese was charred just enough, saucy without being too dangerous. I want these all the time. Should have asked for a side of ranch but they were still delicious without. We also had cheese curds and cinnamon-sugar bites with cream cheese frosting. Not a miss in the meal.

Just wow. My boyfriend and I had been wanting to try Poor Gary’s for a while, and we’re SO glad we did. We eat A-LOT of pizza, and this is literally our new favorite. No kidding. We drove 65 miles round trip to get take out and had our large House pizza polished off within about 12 minutes. Then, WE DROVE BACK the next day for another pizza. We had to. It was that good. Second pizza was as perfect as the first. Super consistent. Amazing staff. Can’t say enough good. Great. Now I want another house pizza.
